Quick answer: A dyno tune is engine tuning done on a dynamometer, a machine that holds the car under controlled, repeatable load so the tuner can measure and adjust it safely. At Elite Fleet Auto in Cannonvale, dyno tuning is done on our own in-house Mainline 2WD chassis dyno (2WD only; AWD/4WD-locked vehicles, call to check first) and is quoted per job: call 07 4948 3204.

What is a dyno tune?

Your engine's computer (the ECU) decides how much fuel to add and when to fire the spark. After modifications (a cam, heads, exhaust, intake or a new engine management system) those settings need to be adjusted to suit. A dyno lets the tuner run the car at set speeds and loads, watch the air/fuel ratio and other data, and refine the calibration step by step, rather than guessing on the road.

What you get

  • Tuning and testing on our Mainline 2WD chassis dyno, under one roof at 8 Galbraith Park Drive, Cannonvale
  • A tune built around the parts actually fitted to your car
  • Results measured on the dyno, not guessed
  • Straight answers on what else your combination needs before we start

Can you dyno tune an AWD or 4WD?

Our dyno is a Mainline 2WD chassis dyno (the Mainline 600L), so it is 2WD only. If your vehicle is AWD, or a 4WD that can't be run in 2WD, call 07 4948 3204 before booking and we'll check whether it can go on the dyno.

What does it cost?

Every car and combination is different, so dyno tuning is quoted per job. Tell us the make, model, engine and what's been modified and we'll quote before any work starts.

How to get ready

See the what to bring checklist on our dyno tuning page. In short: a 2WD car (call first if it's AWD or 4WD-locked), healthy and serviced, with no leaks or warning lights, the fuel you'll run, and a list of every modification.

Is a modified car legal in Queensland?

Some modifications need certification. Rules are set by the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR); check TMR's vehicle modifications page or ask us before you buy parts.
